Friends of Abbey Park

Do you care about Abbey Park ?

The "Friends of Abbey Park" has recently been launched. We are a community group of volunteers, independent of Leicester City Council but working with their support.

Abbey Park is Leicester's premier urban park, having great social and historical significance to the City. In the last decade considerable research and community consultation has been undertaken and ways of improving the park have been identified. Whilst improvements have been identified, support and funding have not.

What can "Friends" achieve?

Everyone joining the "Friends" group will receive a regular newsletter keeping them up to date with what is happening. "Friends" will also be a contact for any concerns that members may have about the park. It is up to you how much you wish to become involved.

The annual subscription will be kept low and is currently £1. If you are interested in hearing more please feel free to email us here or come to the next public meeting. These are usually held in the function room of the Abbey Hotel public house, St. Margaret's Way, Leicester, LE4 0BT. There is a map here. The date and time of the next meeting will be published here shortly.

If you would like to join "Friends of Abbey Park" now, or cannot make it to the meetings, you can print or download the membership application form in .pdf format from here and send it with £1 to Friends of Abbey Park, 2 Abbey Park Lodge, Leicester, Leicestershire, LE4 5AQ.

You will need Adobe Reader installed in order to read the membership application form. If you do not have this, you can download it here for free from www.adobe.co.uk.
